The Smart Leak Detector Valve is a simple safeguard for any water filter system. It watches for a leak and automatically shuts off the water supply before a small drip turns into real water damage.
How It Works
A sensor mounts to the tubing of your filtration system. If it senses moisture from a leak, it closes the water supply inlet and stops the flow, which helps protect your floors, cabinets, and belongings. The valve uses a 1 inch connection.
Why It Matters
Crystal Quest systems are built rugged, and every unit is individually tested and inspected before it ships. Even so, no filtration system is completely immune to a leak, and the cause is often something outside the equipment itself. A leak detector valve is inexpensive insurance against that rare failure. We recommend installing one with every Crystal Quest under-sink, water cooler, inline, and point-of-entry system.
Common Causes of Leaks
Leaks can come from a range of conditions, including but not limited to:
- Site conditions, such as a missing or non-working pressure regulator, excessive water pressure, pressure spikes, water hammer, or extreme hot or cold temperatures
- Installation or user issues, such as cartridge replacement errors, overdue or clogged cartridges, an over-tightened or cross-threaded sump, a damaged O-ring, physical impact, or contact with household chemicals
- The rare event of damage during shipping or handling
